As a kid, I played a lot of sports. I was a state champion swimmer at the age of ten, a nationally ranked swimmer in high school, and an Olympic hopeful in college. After college I traveled the world and did no kind of fitness training whatsoever. Then, in 2008 I became a long haul truck driver. I gained 10.7% of my body weight in just the first two months. That was the moment I realized I had to take responsibility for my health while on the road. Eventually, I designed a nutrition and fitness program that was specific to the unique circumstances, schedules and demands of long haul truck drivers. The program helped me get into peak condition in 2011 and I returned to swimming, winning two events at the US Masters Swimming National Championships. I also competed in eight triathlons that year, winning two of them, and finishing in 214th place at the 2012 Ironman South Africa. After seven years implementing my fitness program at transportation carriers across the country, I have helped thousands of drivers lose a lot of weight and come off medication.
