Description

Functional fitness is all about training your muscles to help you function outside of the gym. It means working out to be adaptable, dynamic and ready for whatever the world has to throw at you - like those heavy grocery bags that you have to carry up 2 flights of stairs! Functional training uses multi-directional, multi-joint and multi-muscle exercises to get your whole body working together. The keys to being functionally fit are muscle strength, balance and agility. Doing exercises for these key areas will also give you a bonus benefit of core stability! In this casual level Functional Fitness 1.0 program you will learn some new functional exercises as well as see that many common exercises that you may already do are also considered functional! For the exercises using dumbbells, pick a light weight or do the movement without weight if you are starting with no fitness experience. Let's get functional!
